Whole Home Remodeling in Houston, TX
Kitchens, bathrooms, countertops, stairs and flooring handled by one crew — every material picked out in our Memorial Drive showroom.
One Contractor, One Showroom, Every Room
Remodeling a whole house usually means juggling contractors — a flooring crew, a fabricator, a cabinet installer, each with their own schedule and their own invoice. Vega Flooring & Renovation works differently: we supply the materials and we install them, so one team is accountable for the finished house.
And because our owner, Maynor Vega, is also a builder, the work doesn’t stop at the finishes. Plumbing, electrical, sheetrock and paint run through trade crews we’ve worked with for years — walls that get opened up get closed back properly.

What a Whole Home Remodel Includes
Take the whole house at once or phase it room by room. Either way it’s the same crew, the same showroom and one estimate.
Flooring Throughout
Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate and carpet — run consistently through the house so rooms flow instead of stopping at every threshold.
Kitchen Remodeling
Cabinets, countertops, backsplash and flooring handled together, so the finishes actually match.
Bathroom Remodeling
Showers, tubs, vanities, tile and waterproofing — primary baths through powder rooms.
Countertops & Slabs
Quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, dekton and porcelain, templated and fabricated to your layout.
Custom Cabinetry & Carpentry
Built-ins, cabinet runs, shelving and trim work sized to your walls instead of to a stock box.
Plumbing & Electrical
Moving a shower, relocating a kitchen island, adding circuits for a new range — handled by licensed trade crews we have worked with for years and scheduled by us.
Sheetrock, Texture & Paint
Walls opened up during a remodel get closed, floated, textured to match the rest of the house and painted, so the finished room does not advertise where the work happened.
Staircases, Trim & Railings
Re-treading, new railings, balusters and trim, so the second floor ties into the rest of the remodel.
Hardwood Refinishing
If the existing floors are solid, refinishing costs less than replacing and keeps the character.
Professional Installation
Every material we sell, installed by our own crew — one warranty, one phone number.
Why Houston Homeowners Hand Us the Whole House
- See it before you buy it — real slabs, planks and tile in the showroom
- One itemized estimate covering every room and every material
- Trades sequenced by us — countertops after cabinets, floors after the dust
- Financing through Synchrony, so the house gets done in one pass
How a Whole Home Remodel Works
Free in-home consultation
We walk the house with you, measure every room, and talk through what you want changed and what you would rather leave alone. No charge, no obligation.
Showroom selection
You come to Memorial Drive and choose materials room by room, with someone who knows how each one wears. Take samples home and see them in your own light before you commit.
Written, itemized estimate
Every line broken out — material, labor, room by room — plus a realistic schedule. You know what you are paying for before anything gets torn out.
Protection, demo and prep
We mask off the areas we are not touching, protect what stays, and haul out what goes. Subfloors get checked and levelled here, because everything after it depends on that.
Installation, in the right order
Rough work first, finishes last, trades sequenced so nothing has to be installed twice. We clean the site at the end of every day.
Walkthrough and care instructions
We walk every room with you before we call it done, and you get care instructions for each surface. The maintenance is what makes the finish last.
What Drives the Cost of a Whole Home Remodel
Nobody can quote a house sight unseen, but you should know what moves the number before you start calling contractors. Five things account for most of the spread.
Square footage and rooms in scope
The biggest single lever, and the easiest one to phase across two years instead of one.
Material tier
Laminate versus engineered hardwood, or granite versus a book-matched quartzite, can change a room several times over — same labor either way.
What is under the old floor
An uneven slab, water damage or a failed subfloor has to be fixed before anything new goes down. We check on the walkthrough so it is not a surprise in week three.
Layout changes
Moving plumbing or taking out a wall costs more than replacing what is already there — but because we handle those trades ourselves, it stays on one estimate and one schedule.
Finish detail
Full-height tile, custom trim, stair work and built-ins are hours — and hours are most of the bill.
Most whole-home projects we take on run between $125 and $300 per square foot. Where a house lands in that range depends on what’s in scope: replacing systems like the roof, HVAC or plumbing drains, adding square footage, and the level of finish work move the number far more than the flooring itself.
Whatever your number turns out to be, you get it in writing and itemized before we start, and it doesn’t change without a conversation first.

Whole Home Remodeling Questions, Answered
Usually yes. We phase the work so you keep a functioning kitchen or bathroom while we’re in the other one, and we seal off active areas to keep dust where it belongs. If you’re gutting every bathroom at once, plan to be out for that stretch — and we’ll tell you which weeks at the estimate, not halfway through.
Most whole-home projects we take on run between $125 and $300 per square foot. Where you land in that range depends on what’s being replaced — systems like the roof, HVAC or plumbing drains push it higher, and so do added square footage and higher-end finishes; floors and surfaces alone sit at the lower end. You’ll know your exact number before anything gets torn out: every estimate is written and itemized, room by room.
It depends on scope. For a typical Houston home, expect a few weeks when it’s floors and surfaces throughout, and closer to a couple of months when kitchens, bathrooms and stairs are all in play. You get a written schedule with your estimate, and we tell you as soon as anything moves.
No, and plenty of our customers don’t. Phasing it — floors and kitchen this year, bathrooms next — spreads the cost and keeps the house livable. Because we keep your material selections on file, phase two still matches phase one.
Yes. Our owner, Maynor Vega, is a builder as well as a flooring contractor, so whole-house work here isn’t limited to surfaces. Plumbing, electrical, sheetrock and paint are handled by licensed trade crews we’ve worked alongside for years, and we schedule and coordinate them ourselves. You’re not calling three companies to find out why the electrician didn’t show.
No — on a remodel, we fill that role. Our owner, Maynor Vega, is a builder, so we run the schedule, coordinate the trades and answer for the finished house. The difference from a typical general contractor is that we’re also the material supplier: the hardwood, tile and stone come out of our own showroom instead of being bought elsewhere and marked up. One point of contact, one less layer of margin.
When the scope calls for one, yes. Moving plumbing, altering electrical service or changing structure generally requires a permit in Houston; refinishing floors or swapping countertops generally doesn’t. We tell you at the estimate which parts of your job need one, rather than leaving you to find out in the middle of it.
Yes, through Synchrony. You can apply online in a few minutes and know your budget before you start picking materials.
